Meet the pharmacist

Tony Buchta, R.Ph., MBA, Owner

A 1988 graduate of The Ohio State University with a bachelor’s degree in pharmacy, Tony also holds a master’s degree in business administration from Capital University and he completed an extensive compounding training in 1996 at the Professional Compounding Centers of America in Houston. He is a member of the Ohio State Pharmacist Association, the International Association of Compounding Pharmacists and past President of the Academy of Pharmacy of Central Ohio.

As a 2005 recipient of the Innovative Pharmacy Practice Award and a member of the advisory panel to Elan Pharmaceuticals, Tony was a critical part of the ongoing development of Prialt. Through connections within the local and national pharmaceutical community, he is currently a presenter at international conferences on multiple compounding topics. His ties to the community and alma mater also provide him the opportunity to be involved in numerous research projects conducted through The Ohio State University.

Tony started Central Ohio Compounding Pharmacy to aid in solving complex problems for patients. Through his past experience, he found that the best way to achieve his goal was to listen to his patients and collaborate with the prescriber to compound the most effective medicines possible. By applying this relationship approach, he has been able to help a vast number of patients from children with allergies, to people needing hormone replacement, to hospice patients suffering from intolerable pain. Tony strives every day to bring his passion for helping people and knowledge of pharmacy to his patients; positively impacting their lives.
